V2003

(17/08, 11:30) That's it. All over for another year. May be a little controversial but didn't think the Chilis were as good as last time. Best bands were (in order) Coldplay, David Gray, Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters. Roll on next year.

(17/08, 12:40) Day two. Even managed to get to see the first band - well the second half anyway.

(16/08, 23:00) Coldplay were amazing. Loads better than last time and will take some beating.

(16/08, 13:20) Never found at festivals in the past that it ever runs to time. But here may be the exception. Missed Eisley but Echo and the Bunneynen were ontime.

(16/08, 8:36) Been awake for about an hour. When I say awake I mean "not listening to dance music from the god tent and trying to sleep". It does amaze me how people can sleep in their own rubbish and how they can use the spaces behind their tents as a toilet when they're about 50 yards from the toilet block.

(15/08, 18:17) It's quarter past six on a Friday evening and I'm sat in a field in Chelmsford. Granted I have a crate of beer by my side and my tent is up but this is a little too back to nature for my liking.

What's the occasion I hear you ask (which in this case is blatantly untrue as this won't go on the site until for another three days)? V Festival - headlined by Coldplay on Saturday and The Red Hot Chili Peppers on Sunday. Not too fussed about Coldplay (saw them here last time and wasn't too impressed) but the chance to see the Chillis, The Foo Fighters, David Gray, The Inspiral Carpets and Echo and the Bunnymen makes up for it.

I've been here a few times but this is the first time camping. Camped at Donington this year and that was great so hopefully this will be as good. It's going to be a long couple of days but should be worth it.
